THE CASE OF PAUL MANAFORT: UKRAINE IS OUT OF THE GAME?

Will the activity of former Campaign Chairman of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign team, former chief strategist and lobbyist of Viktor Yanukovych in Ukraine be investigated? What implications can this American case of Manafort have for Ukrainian politics?

The jury in the U.S. Federal court in Alexandria, state Virginian, found the former Campaign Chairman of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign team Paul Manafort guilty on eight of the eighteen charges, including five counts of tax fraud, two counts of bank fraud, one count of failing to disclose his foreign bank accounts. The prosecution claims that Manafort did not pay taxes on at least 15 million dollar income, received for lobbying interests of former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and his Party of Regions. 69-year-old Manafort entered a not guilty plea; he faces a possible long prison sentence.
