UKRAINE: THREE YEARS WITHOUT CRIMEA

26.06.2017

Three years of annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation after the illegal so-called «All-Crimean referendum» of March, 2014, left a deep scar on the history of Ukraine and the whole world. Not only this was the first annexation of the XXI century, but also an example of how absolutely helpless the international community can be when facing an aggressor that flouts international laws, including bilateral ones, namely the Great Ukrainian-Russian Treaty of 1997 and Budapest Memorandum of 1994, in which Russia signed as one of the guarantors of Ukrainian territorial integrity and independence.
